ART: Visual Inspiration

The Visual Arts are those that one can look at, which ranges from drawings , paintings , sculptures or even fashion. People look to different things for inspiration ; Art is that one thing for me. I am personally inspired by works that portrays nature and life. One must be able to look at a painting per se and be captivated in a way that they feel as if they could take on the world. In order to be creative one must be inspired and just the same it takes creativity to be artistic. Artists posses a very important role in society ; they act as an archive because they get to document things of every day life in their paintings, drawings etc. Artists mostly have positive influences on society . The best thing about being an artist myself is the ability to create new ideas and make something out of nothing.

Eldon Spence was born in Falmouth, Jamaica, on August 7th 1972. He always wanted to be an artist and his favourite subjects at school were Art & Painting, Batik leatherwork and Screen printing . He later joined a group of artists led by Wilfred Black. By observing them he developed his own style and thus rightly describes himself as self taught. - www.galleryofwestindiana.com

Artists at many points are pressured with the feeling of wanting to give up especially when the motivation is lacking, intrinsically that is. God is the greatest artist of all times that any other artist can relate to ; he has all credits for his creation of the skies and oceans. The Oceans and Clouds serves as great inspiration to many artists.

People Misinterpret Art all the time for good or bad reasons; often for what they see. Artists can learn a lot from people’s interpretations or  ” misinterpretation” for this matter which often makes sense.

My advice to young aspiring artists would be to: 1) Learn how to draw, not all professional artists could draw naturally.

2) If you haven’t , develop a passion for creating things, and finally…

3) Find inspiration – Learn to be patient and make wise decisions.
